At Sunset, Overlooking San Gregorio Beach, CA

Posted by
Vaibhav (Stanford, United States) on 30 January 2011 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

After spending about an hour at San Gregorio beach, I singled out this location as one for making a photo when the warm evening light causes the cliffs to glow. Initially there were many people on the beach and though I wanted a point of interest in the image, too many people would be distracting. So I waited and as the sun went down further, so did the number of visitors on the beach.

Eventually, I got this couple on the right place at the right time, timed my shutter so that the waves complement the sun lit cliffs and made this photo.

Post processing was straight forward and the image looked exactly like this on my camera screen. I sharpened it a bit followed by resizing it to JPEG.
